PTA NOTICE – AUGUST 24

A HUGE THANKS
·
To everyone who helped out at the cross country either on the day or by bringing
a plate for the bake sale. It was a fantastic day and with so many helpers it meant that
everyone could watch their children run and enjoy the day. On the day we raised a net
profit (after taking into account the sausages and iceblocks) of over $350.00 which was
fantastic!
·
To those families who brought along a plate for the Kiwi stand or helped their own
communities at the Parish Food Festival on Sunday. The Parish raised over $1,200.00
for the new sound system which has been installed in our Church.
·
To all those people who have offered to help at the Discos, more details below!

PTA MEETING – WEDNESDAY 28TH JULY
Everyone is welcome to come along and we would love to see some new faces. The
meeting starts at 7.30pm in the staffroom.

HOT DOG FRIDAY – 30TH JULY 2010
After the last Hot Dog Friday was so popular we thought we would have another one to
get us through the winter. Once again the Hot Dogs are $2.00 each. Could you please
bring your payment to school next Wednesday, 28th July, so that we can make sure we
have enough Hot Dogs on the day.

YUMMY APPLES
We have received confirmation that the Yummy Apple campaign is running again this
year. Please start collecting the stickers. You can print out a sheet to stick them on
from www.yummyfruit.co.nz. You will find the Yummy stickers on the Yummy apples
at local supermarkets and fruit stores. If you have any Yummy stickers you have been
collecting already, please start bringing them into school.

CROSS COUNTRY – TUESDAY 17TH AUGUST
We will be having a sausage sizzle and a bake sale on the day. If you can help in any
way, please e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or phone Julie on 580 0958.

DISCO – FRIDAY 20TH AUGUST
This year we are looking at having separate junior (years 0-2) and middle/senior (years
3-6) discos. More details will follow but we will need parent help with both of these. If
you are able to help on the night (collecting tickets, selling drinks, security, clean up) at
one of the discos, please e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or phone Julie on 580 0958.
If we are not able to get enough parental help for the night, the discos may not be able
to go ahead.
We are once again very lucky to have Camilla Tuivaiti and Bruce Seumanu kindly
donating their time and resources to do the music and lighting for the discos and we
thank them very much.

PARISH FOOD FESTIVAL – SUNDAY 22ND AUGUST
The annual Parish Food Festival is on 22nd August and is always a very enjoyable
morning.
More details will follow with contact names and numbers for the different ethnic groups
to be represented at the Food Festival and how you may be able to contribute on the
day.

St. Mary's Catholic School PTA PDF Print E-mail
Sunday, 19 July 2009 16:12

The St. Mary's Catholic School, Ellerslie PTA provides a pivotal link for the parents through to the school's administration. Further to developing clear communication, the PTA at St. Mary's encourage all parents to become involved in their children's education. Be it through fund-raising or social activity, the St. Mary's PTA focus on ensuring each family has the opportunity to enjoy the wonderful culture, pride and friendship that makes this school what it is.

We have several key fund-raising initiatives each year that provide much needed fiscal assistance to the school. This revenue will assist St. Mary's improving the facilities available to the children. While fun-raising is a core focus, so too is fun and enjoyment. The social committee provide a wonderful platform for new families to become involved in the school through several social events and occasions.

For further information or insight into the St. Mary's Cathlolic School Ellerslie PTA please contact Sarah Farrugia 027 290 7417.
